From 3 to 6 June, the Palma Superyacht Show will be the – albeit unofficial – opening of the yachting season on the Balearic Islands. This will be the first time in many months that the industry has physically gathered at an event. Deutsche Yachten, the superyacht working Group of the German Boat and Shipbuilders Association will also have a stand (SY 38/39) to represent its members.
Although the number of visitors will be limited, the signal is more than positive for the entire industry. Claus-Ehlert Meyer, Deutsche Yachten managing director, says: “The Balearics are an important market for many of our members. Since the fair is a fixed date in our calendar and can now open under very well-defined conditions in a secure setting, it was a matter of course for us to fly the flag there.”
Below the cathedral of Mallorca’s capital, mainly second-hand yachts up to 50 metres in length will be moored. Service providers, brokers and shipyards will be exhibiting around the harbour. The Superyacht Show is also joined by the Palma International Boat Show for smaller yachts up to 24 metres in length.
